“Commodore Crypto” • Original Series Demo

One of our show ideas was COMMODORE CRYPTO, a edutainment, nature documentary series with animated host characters.
Commodore Crypto is a cryptozoologist, a psuedo-scientist who goes off looking for undiscovered creatures around the world, and is accompanied by his greatest claim-to-fame, Morty the Last Dodo, and his little pocket-pal Flash, the World's fastest banana slug.
The voice of Crypto is Andy Merrill, who is better known as the talent behind Brak of SPACE GHOST COAST-TO-COAST fame.
The voice of Morty is done by an amateur we discovered, David Lavendar, a real Brooklyn wiseass.
He and another "stockbroker" we met in the officespace AMP sublet from were the inspiration of the greatest project AMP ever came up with, SILKY & LAVENDER (more on that to come).
COMMODORE CRYPTO is a one-minute demo of combining the live-action documentary footage with our animated characters which, in the late '90's , was still a fairly uncommon technique for a TV series.
